Cotton Corduroy Trousers in Tan Yellow
The Hilditch & Key corduroy trousers are lovingly crafted in Portugal by a family-owned firm which has been producing classic, contemporary pieces for over forty years. Fifteen skilled individuals are involved in the creation of each pair of trousers, with the process taking a month from start to finish.
Corduroy has been popular since the eighteenth century, although there is an element of conjecture as to its origin. Many believe that the fabric was first worn by the Georgian working classes: a coarse woollen cloth known as ‘duroy’ was stitched into ‘cords’ to make a hard-wearing material. Some, however, look to the Continent for a somewhat grander provenance: the French ‘corde du roi’ after all means ‘cord of the king’.
Luckily, nowadays you can cover all bases courtesy of Hilditch & Key. Emanate a jaunty regal air in a pair of trousers built to last. With an extensive colour palette to choose from, whether you’re a country gent favouring dark green or a man about town who can pull off purple, you’ll be certain to make great strides this season.
